Risk and Recovery
When our body is overwhelmed by persistent mistreatment it is flooded with cortisol and adrenaline day in and day out to prepare us to fight or flee our tormentors. Alas, we are too young to do so. If the neglect and abuse continues more stress hormones course in our veins, and our cells switch to energy-saving mode so the body cannot rest and repair the damage. We become exhausted and fatigued and our immune reactions are dampened so that infections take easily hold. Our gut bears the brunt. Blood flow to the intestines stagnates, peristalsis stalls and leaky gut results. Small bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) are the risks we incur. Our overwhelmed immune system can no longer tell friend from foe and attacks our own cells. We subsequently develop autoimmune diseases, stroke, cancer, diabetes, obesity, you name it.
In our app you will learn how to deal with stress and reconnect to your body and mind. Mental, physical and emotional problems become a thing of the past.
